Social Media Isn't Optional Anymore — But Posting Without Strategy Is Worse Than Not Posting at All

Philomena Moncoeur • July 24, 2026

Let's have an honest conversation about social media.

A lot of entrepreneurs are showing up on social media but they're showing up inconsistently, without a clear message, and without any real strategy for turning followers into clients. And then they wonder why social media isn't "working" for them.

Here's the truth: social media works. It works incredibly well for brands that understand what it's actually for. It's not a highlight reel. It's not a digital billboard. It's a relationship-building machine and when you use it that way, it becomes one of the most powerful sales tools you have.

THIS WEEK'S INSIGHT: CONTENT THAT CONVERTS

There are four types of content every brand should be rotating through on social media:

1. EDUCATIONAL CONTENT: Teach your audience something valuable. Position yourself as the expert they want to hire. "How to," "3 tips," "What most people don't know about X" is that this content builds trust and gets shared.

2. SOCIAL PROOF: Testimonials, results, case studies, before-and-afters. Let your happy clients do the talking. This is the content that converts followers into buyers faster than anything else.

3. BEHIND-THE-BRAND CONTENT: Show who you are, not just what you sell. People buy from people they like and trust. Let them into your world.

4. CONVERSION CONTENT: Clear, direct calls to action. "Book a consultation." "Click the link in bio." "DM me the word READY." If you never ask, you'll never get. Most entrepreneurs post everything except this.

A simple weekly rotation of these four types of content will do more for your brand than posting every day without intention.

YOUR TASK THIS WEEK: PLAN ONE WEEK OF CONTENT

Using the four content types above, plan out five social media posts for next week. One educational, one social proof, one behind-the-brand, one conversion, and one of your choice.

Write the captions. Pick or plan your visuals. Schedule them in advance. Then watch what happens when you show up consistently with purpose.
